Open a VASSAL module

Drop a .vmod here, or use the button. Each board opens in its own window with the setup laid out. Nothing can be moved yet — that is stage 3.

Left-click a stack on the table to see what is in it. Right-click anything — board, row or hand card — to open its menu.

Arrange tiles the open boards without overlap. Pinning lays a board on the table: it moves and zooms with the main board and loses its frame. Drag its title bar to reposition it; the bar appears when you point at the board.

Step

Type a number, then use − and + to count it up or down. The value is kept with the saved game.

Rotation step

Hover a piece and press Q / E to rotate it, or C to copy it. Over a stack's count badge, the whole stack turns or is copied.

Left-click selects — everywhere: on the board, in Stack contents and in the hand. Left-drag pans the board. Right-click opens the menu — also everywhere. During a move, right-click cancels. On a touch screen, press and hold opens the menu instead.

Drag a piece to move it — drop it where it should go, on this board or on a pinned one. Dragging from empty table pans instead, as does dragging with the right button or two fingers. A stack drags as a whole; drag a row in Stack contents to pull one piece out of it.

Manuals

Rulebooks and player aids can be opened at any time, not only during setup. A PDF from your own machine always renders; an external link may be blocked by the page's security policy.

The game is kept in this browser, on this device. The module itself is never stored — reopen the .vmod after a restart and the saved game is offered back to you.
